Battlefront 2 How To Change Resolution and Enjoy the Game at Its Best

I downloaded Battlefront II the other day and when I tried to play today I was unable to change the game resolution (I have a 4K monitor, but I wanted to put the resolution lower so I could use higher graphics settings). During the download, I played around with arcade mode and was able to change the resolution then, but now I cannot in the full game. What will happen is that I will select a lower resolution, the screen will flicker and it will ask me if I want to keep the changes. When I click Yes, the screen flickers again and it's set to 4K still. All other graphics options seem to still be changeable.

To use Battlefront II, I changed the version numbers of the Radeon driver in the Registry Editor (Apple is slow to update drivers officially), and all was well playing arcade during the download, but I don't know if that would effect the complete game; I'd figure not, but still. I was also wondering if another program might be conflicting with BF2 in the background, but no other programs were running that should be controlling the resolution.

Battlefront 2 How To Change Resolution

One workaround is to set your desktop to the resolution you want the game to run in. SW BF II seems to lock to my desktop resolution. It's an option of last resort since you will have to do it every time you play or leave your desktop at non-retina resolution.

@AeroJett what @IIPrest0nII recommended worked for me after I turned off Origin overlay. However, my recommended steps would be install newest AMD non-apple drivers at bootcampdrivers.com set your desktop resolution to what you want in the game run the game and verify it is in the resolution you want. (4) follow @IIPrest0nII instructions. (5) change desktop back to Retina resolution verify that BF2 launched in the correct res. (7) don't change resolution in-game once you have working.

I found a different solution that was right in front of my face; just change the resolution scale. I set it to 60% and tweaked the other setting around and it's running pretty well now. Also, I'm not sure downloading the non-Apple drivers is the safest option in terms of stability; I'd seen that site mentioned elsewhere and some people had issues with the drivers, so just watch out.

As previously stated, going to Documents\STAR WARS Battlefront II\settings and te change the values in the "ProfileOptions_profile" file should do the trick. Just open with noteblock and find the witdh and hight and adjust it.

So I installed the game and went to play it. I checked the configure options and left them as they were: 1024 x 768 etc. I then see how grainy things look in game and decide to change them. I change my resolution ingame to 1680 x 1050 (which my screen supports) and it tells me to restart, I restart. I then enter the game again to see it has gone back to the default 1024 x 768. I then proceed to use the auto-detect and use the configure game option all of which fail to change the settings. Is this unavailible in the demo? Or am I doing something wrong?

Hi to all! I need help. Recently, I accepted the game on epic games "Star Wars Battlefront II" and installed it on origin. When I started the game, it turned out that I was set to a different resolution that my computer does not support. I was looking for help on the internet and:- I typed in command-line arguments like -windowed or -resolution XXXXxXXXX and it didn't work.- I was looking in documents and there were no settings, only screenshots and two other empty folders. So please help me as I would love to play this game.Thank you!

Have some games on Steam Deck that won't get the right resolution? Now you can force them into what you want. This will be useful for quite a lot of retro games especially, and some that just won't behave.

Battlefront 2 is one of the new titles that includes support for Microsoft's DirectX 12. This Windows render API is supposed to allow for better performance in game by reducing overhead and providing extra functionality like dynamic resolution scaling.

This setting controls the resolution of the game's 3D elements without affecting text, menu or UI, which means you can use lower resolutions for greater performance without affecting menu readability or while using borderless window mode.

In the game menu, the minimum allowed value of this variable is 25 percent (which corresponds to an effective resolution of 480 x 270 if external resolution is set to 1080). But, in practice, any multiplier value can be set in the configuration file by changing the value of GstRender.ResolutionScale. A value of 1 corresponds to 100 percent of the external resolution, 0.5 percent corresponds to 50 percent external resolution and so on.

It can often be useful to change this value from the dev console using the Render.ResolutionScale command. This changes the resolution while the game is running, meaning that you have room to experiment and see how it affects performance and visibility. This value has no limits either, so using the command as Render.ResolutionScale 0.05 will render this pixelated mess:

This value is reset back to whatever is on the configuration file as soon as a level is reloaded (when you change class, for example). So don't forget to change the configuration file when you get to a value that works for you.

However, with the tweaks mentioned above and a resolution scale of 0.5 (960 x 540 effective resolution), the game managed to maintain close to 60 fps in Galactic Assault maps. It lost performance only due to a CPU bottleneck in moments of intense action, such as explosions very close to the player, or when the player was moving fast through the map, causing new areas to load.

This is hardly the kind of device you would think of for playing a heavy AAA 2017 release, but when I used the tweaks above and a resolution scale of 30 percent (576 x 324), the game managed to consistently perform over 30 fps on Starfighter Assault, even when the battle got intense.

As long as you are using a dedicated GPU, Battlefront 2 is a highly optimized game that you can play at high frame rates. Just make sure that the game's special effects are set to the lowest possible numbers in the config file, and use the dev console tool to explore and experiment with other variables to see if you can gain any performance. Once you understand how to navigate the console quickly, you can even apply some tweaks, like disabling indoor lights or dropping internal resolution, to get an extra boost midgame.

One of the great features of the ninth-gen consoles, like the PS5, is the choice between graphical fidelity and performance. This enables console gamers to sacrifice graphical fidelity and resolution to achieve higher frame rates and vice versa.

Resolution Mode is the PS5 preset that prioritizes graphical fidelity over performance and frame rate. As the name implies, Resolution Mode focuses on higher resolution and graphics and runs video games at their maximum resolution which is often 4K for most PS5 games.

You can set Resolution Mode as your default preference for your PS5 games through the PS5 settings. This way, PS5 will automatically change the game's graphics to Resolution Mode to give you the best possible graphics the game can display.

The titles of the settings vary from game to game, but the outline is usually the same. For instance, in Elden Ring, the higher-resolution mode can be found in game options as Prioritize Quality.

Star Wars Battlefront II Remastered is an upgrade for the old Star Wars Battlefront II game. While the gameplay itself already supported higher resolutions the menu interface did not. As a result the galactic conquest looks pixelated and stretched and furthermore there is a very limited amount of supported eras because it is not possible to display more then 5 at once. This mod contains new HD background images, fixes for the stretched and pixelated content on widescreen Displays and additional support for more eras and game mods. Furthermore this mod comes with soundfixes and ai hero support for ALL eras maps and mods that do not already support it. But if you prefer the pure Battlefront II feeling you can disable this on a new settings page.

Another frequently asked question is about the resolution not changing for steam users. This mod does actually not change the resolution. You can force the game's interface resolution through a launch parameter. But this leads to a messy interface and this mod cleans it up. There is a new shortcut created that pass the launch parameter automatically to the exe. Anyway, if you have a different resolution or want to start the game from the steam interface you need to change it. The following pictures descripe how to do it.

The remaster settings page, one of the main feature of the mod, has been reworked completely. There are now multiple tabs (1) on the left side. On the first tab there are the quicksettings. Those are simple toggle buttons and most of the settings you should already know from unofficial patch 1.3 (uop13). You can no longer change those through the txt files in the addon folder, but only though this settings page. Make sure to press save (10) when you made changes. As i changed a lot of stock files you cannot install uop13 after remaster. Since i include all unchanged uop files, too, you needn't install uop prior. There is no more need for uop13 if you are using remaster!!

Special is the save instant options setting. If you activate it the changes you make to the instant action option is tracked. But only if you go back to the settings page and press save (10) it's actually written to the files.

Developer can add their own quick settings to the first tab or a complete new page under a own tab through custom scripts (see developer documentation for further infos about that). If those scripts are provided, they are located in the addon\XXX\scripts\ folder. After you add a mod that has those scripts, you need to install them one time. Go to the Script Manager tab (1) and put the mod ID into the editbox (4) and press install (5). Now the script schould be listed in (6), (7) or (8). If the mod offers a localize string, the mod name is shown as well as the 3letter ID. If you remove a mod, remaster should autodetect that scripts are missing and remove them. But it can always happen that something goes wrong, so one major first solution is to delete the RemasterSettings file. It's located in the SaveGames folder. You have many new mods with remaster settings installed at once? You can add a list of IDs separated by a ' ' or ','. You don't remember the 3 letter ID when ingame, or there are really a lot of mods you want to install at once? Just type '*' and press install. Now all possible 3 letter combinations are scanned for scripts. This takes very long as you may remember from Remaster 1.3.Themes can be changes through the dropdown (3). Make sure to save (10) after changing it and always restart the game when you do changes on the script manager page!! 2ff7e9595c
